About Forest Oak

Forest Oak was established by fourth-generation oak importer, Border Hardwood, to meet the increasing demand for hand finished, ready to erect oak frames.

Our work varies dramatically in size and scale – from simple oak canopies, porches, and pergolas, through to oak garden rooms, orangeries, extensions, carports, garages and entire timber frames houses.

We are based centrally in Shropshire and have quick and easy links to the road networks. We also operate a fleet of delivery vehicles, allowing us to offer a truly integrated national service.

Material Quality

All of our frames are produced using a combination of machine manufacturing along with hand finishing by skilled craftsmen. Forest Oak is able to offer the best in technology whilst still using time-tested traditional methods and techniques.

All of our timber goes through a rigorous in-house grading system on-site. We achieve this by visiting our European mills in person every month of the year. If the quality is not up to our high standards we will not use it. This, we have been told by our customers, remains a point of differentiation from our competitors.

Bespoke & Trade

Whilst a lot of our oak frames are totally bespoke to our customers’ designs, we can also offer a number of off-the-peg configurations. These frames have become particularly popular with our trade customers, with the set sizes decreasing the period required for full installation. As with all of our frames, we can erect our off-the-peg frames or offer a supply only service.

Being able to offer such a diverse and comprehensive service, along with delivering and fitting frames throughout the UK, is what give us an edge over our competitors.
