Oak Garden Rooms Shropshire

An oak framed orangery or oak garden room can be the best way to extend your home and add value to your property. The perfect place to escape the world in any weather; an orangery can be enjoyed in the winter, retaining heat and letting the maximum amount of light in, as well as in the summer. Our carefully in-house designed and handmade bi-folding doors can morph your orangery or garden room into more of an outdoor space. This allows a good through-flow of air in the hotter months.

Roof Options

An oak orangery is often designed utilising a roof style called a ‘mansard’. This four-sided configuration lends itself perfectly to the installation of a roof lantern. This is designed and made by hand in-house at Forest Oak, using the highest quality air dried European oak. In style comparison, the garden rooms we have supplied more often feature pitched roofs and striking fully glazed gable ends.

Getting the glazing just right on your orangery or garden room is extremely important. We work closely with our specialist glass suppliers, ensuring that the correct glass is installed. This means making sure that it is energy efficient – so reducing overheating in warm weather whilst trapping heat in when it is cold.

Planning Permission

These oak framed structures are subject to the same rules and regulations as with any other building projects. It is therefore important to speak with your local planning authority as a starting point. We can guide you through this process, working with our specialist oak frame architect and planning expert. Alternatively, we can come in at any stage of the project.

Whatever size, design or budget we will work with you to create a beautiful space for relaxing, working or socializing in. Please contact us if you would like to see some examples of our recent work. Or have a look through our gallery.
