Oak Porches Shropshire

First impressions are important and the entrance to any home is an opportunity to make a statement. At Forest Oak, we offer a flexible approach to design to suit you and your particular requirements. We want to help you create the perfect porch to fit your home.

Whether a simple canopy porch just to keep you dry whilst trying to find those elusive house keys or a large glazed walk-in space where you and your family can sit down and kick off the wellies extending the life of that cream carpet in your hallway!

We can offer full oak porches, including oak rafters, or include some softwood elements to help keep costs down. Forest Oak can also supply staddle stones, roof shingles, and other ancillary items to help finish your new entrance.

Design wise there are a number of truss styles you can choose from, all quite traditional in appearance, from a ‘braced king post truss’ and ‘curved angled queen post truss’ through to the wonderfully named ‘curved under braced raised tie tied king post truss’. If you would like to see examples of how any of these and other truss styles look, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Depending on the size and location of your porch, it is important to remember that you may require planning permission and not just permitted development. In England and Wales, if a porch covers an area of no greater than 3 meters square then you should be OK, but there are a number of other stipulations that you may have to comply with, such as proximity to boundary, eaves height – it is always worth checking with the relevant local planning authority before making a start.

Delivery time on our porches is usually 4 to 6 weeks from signed drawings.
